Where we’ll meet
Make your own way to the Ecofiwi Tours facilities, at the entrance to Old Point Regional Park, 30 minutes before your departure: that’s where you get the safety briefing, and the operator doesn’t wait for latecomers. From downtown it’s about 10 minutes by taxi or 20 on the San Luis bus.

Ecofiwi Tours S.A.S. (NIT 900.837.058-4) is the ecotourism operator of the Old Point Regional Mangrove Park in San Andrés. It runs small-group tours, with its own dock and bilingual native guides, and with one clear rule: get to know the mangrove without harming it, so nothing is touched or taken, the fish aren’t fed and only eco-friendly sunscreen goes on board.
Exploria handles your booking and the deposit; Ecofiwi Tours runs the activity and receives the balance on the day of the tour.
Things to know
- RequirementsYou don’t need to know how to paddle or swim: the water is calm and shallow, and you wear the life vest for the whole tour. Maximum weight: 95 kg per person and 180 kg per kayak. Not suitable for people with arthritis or spinal surgery who can’t sit for a good while with their legs stretched out. Children always go with an adult in the same kayak (ages 6 to 10 don’t paddle), and children ages 0 to 4 don’t pay (they take up a spot). The kayaks are doubles: if you’re on your own, you share one with another traveler.
- Eco-friendly sunscreen onlyOnly eco-friendly sunscreen and repellent are allowed on board, applied before you set off: chemical ones stain the transparent kayak. If you don’t have any, the operator sells them.
- What to bringYour swimsuit on, clothes that can get wet and a towel. A cap or hat and sunglasses. Water shoes or flip-flops for the part on land (in the kayak you go barefoot). Eco-friendly sunscreen and repellent, applied before you set off. Water or a hydrating drink. Cash for the park entrance tax ($15,000 COP per person). Your phone or camera, which goes in the airtight box (the operator doesn’t offer a photo service).
- Paying the balanceYou pay the balance to the operator at Old Point on the day of the tour: in cash, by bank transfer or by card, whichever you prefer.
- Park entrance taxSeparately from the balance, you pay the park entrance tax, collected by Coralina: $15,000 COP per person, in cash.
- If it rains or it’s windyRain and wind don’t call off the tour: you paddle inside the mangrove, which shelters you from the weather. If DIMAR (the Port Authority) still closes operations because of the weather, we let you know right away and reschedule your departure at no cost or refund 100% of your deposit.
